Blue and white...............

This past weekend I stopped in at Pier 1 and they were having an amazing sale on all of their blue and white porcelain pieces!!! Amazing as in 75% off original prices! I picked up the large ginger jar for $9 regularly $50,two blue and white vases with lids for $4 a piece regularly $30, and two candles one for $2 and the other one was $4. It isn't the highest quality but for those prices who cares?!?!?! So, if you are looking for blue and white porcelain pieces check out Pier 1!

Bad doggie!

My little princess is a big ole thief! Uh huh....she stole some poor doggie's raw hide bone and brought it home and then gloated! At first I thought I should return it to the rightful owner but who IS the rightful owner? It could have come from any of the houses in our neighborhood because everyone has a pooch. I thought about discarding it but it didn't seem right to throw a $7 bone in the trash. Plus it was a little slimey and disgusting looking. So, in the end I scolded her and let her keep her new found treasure. Of course as soon as my hubby came home he was quick to point out what a bad mommy I am for letting her have it. He says I should have taken it away immediately and given it to her later. My response....go ahead honey,take it from her now!!! *snicker-snicker*

A little project that turned into a big project!

A cleaner and brighter look for the living room.....

As you all know our house has been for sale for a little while and right before Thanksgiving the people who were interested in buying our house got cold feet and backed out. To say we were a little disappointed would be an understatement. In fact I became really depressed and found the need to decorate or I felt like I would loose my mind! So, I decided to paint my living room a new lighter and brighter color. Not that there is anything wrong with gold...in fact I still have Sherwin Williams Blonde in the den, I just wanted something lighter. I had been thinking about it for quite some time and figured new paint is always a selling point so what did I have to loose? After I finished painting the living room I loved the new clean and bright look so much I painted the dining room..... and then the kitchen!!! I was a mad woman with a paint brush on a mission!!!! Of course a sure fire way to get someone to look at your house when it is for sale is to start a huge project and have your whole house in total chaos!!!! And it happened.....two days after Christmas with the paint barely dry and Christmas gifts strung all over the house..... we had a showing with only two hours notice!!! Unfortunately they didn't fall in love with the house and make an offer so we are still waiting and living in limbo land.

New prints.....

As many of you already know I am picky,picky,picky when it comes to what I hang on my walls. I won't hang just anything to fill up space.....I have to really love it! Unfortunately many of the pieces I like are way out of my price range. So, when my hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas I took him to my favorite store ,Gallery Classic and pointed these wonderful prints out. Luckily he remembered which ones I wanted and these two beauties were wrapped under the tree come Christmas morning!!!!! Thank you sweetheart!

Feeding the ducks and geese.........

Yesterday we went to Lake Shawnee to walk the dogs and feed the ducks. I'm really not sure how feeding the wild ducks and geese all began originally but it is a lot of fun! They are such characters and most of them will take the bread right out of your hand they are so tame now! The pics only show a very small portion of them......many of them were nesting on the ice on one side of the lake. We got so caught up in the moment of feeding them I didn't think to take pics of the rest of them. Maybe next time............
