Couting down the days.......

A couple of weeks ago I spotted this settee on Craig's List. At the time we thought we had a buyer for the house so I decided to pass on it. Well, the house didn't sell so earlier this week I decided to email the seller and if it was still available..... I would buy it!!! As luck would have it,it is still available!!!! Since I need my husband's help in loading and unloading the settee I am not able to make the trip to buy it until Saturday when hubby is free. I have been counting down the days all week since I have been looking for a piece like this for three years now! Saturday we will go to pick her up.....it will be just like Christmas!

Quirky things........

Originally I was going to write a post about the crazy potential home buyers we have been dealing with and the hell they have put us thru lately but then decided to post about something more happy. After looking around my house I decided that one thing that makes me happy and makes me smile every time I walk into the room is this antique butcher block we got while on one of our junking jaunts. It weighs a TON but I love,love,love the character. One side is worn quite a bit from where the butcher leaned on it and a couple of pieces of wood that have fallen out over the years were put back in upside down when repaired. I love quirky stuff like that! What is one thing in your house that makes you smile?
