Botanicals....not just for the wall!

I have had this set of antique botanicals for a while now...... I believe they are from the 1800's? While the ironstone looked lovely in the antique cabinet it still seemed sort of well...........blah. So, I added one of the cute little botanicals. A little ribbon and a few minutes later it really adds the pizazz that the piece was missing. The other botanical found a home in the living room propped up against some books but more on that another day! I guess I need to address that lamp? It didn't seem so hideous in person but wow it sure does in the pics! LOL..... Hope you all are having a fabulous week?

Like everyone else in the blogging atmosphere I am crazy over grain sacks too! I am trying to use great restraint though and not go overboard using them in every nook and cranny which is very hard to do!!! There are tons of ideas out there.....some very creative!
About six months ago I picked up two grain sacks at an antique shop. I have had them folded neatly and stored away waiting for that perfect application. Originally I was going to use them for pillows but I simply could not decide what size I wanted. Finally the other day I decided I was just going to make some and would find a place for them. Upon closer inspection though I realized that the one grain sack I was going to use to make pillows out of was really dirty and well......well used! So, I decided to be practical for once in my life and make a draft stopper for our front door. The entire project took about 10 minutes tops and only cost a few dollars for the kitty litter I used for the inside. It probably took longer to set up my sewing machine then to actually sew it. Now I'm on the hunt again for a grain sack to make pillows out of.........

Addiction or collection?

I seem to have an addiction.....I mean collection of cloches! Here you can see three grouped together.....

My most favorite find....french love letters!

A little blue and white...another collectible I seem to be addicted to!

Coral...who can resist?

The cloche in the center was my most recent find. It has a large handle which seemed to beckon to me to bring it home.....

Who can resist?

White ironstone.....another love!

As you can see even chipped pieces are well loved pieces in my collections......

Isn't this the sweetest little pot?

Yes, I even collect silverware!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!?!?!?!

Show & Tell Friday.....

This is my first time participating in Show & Tell Friday hosted by Cindy over at My Romantic Home so bare with me please?!?!?! Today I am showing a French piece we picked up about a month ago that we bought on Craig's List. While it is probably not the finest piece of furniture it definitely is a pretty piece. Of course if you are looking for fine pieces you won't find any in our house......... If ain't broke or chipped we probably don't own it! Finding items to fit on the short shelves was a challenge but everything you see are items I already had in my home. It didn't come together overnight....it took me a few days of tweaking to get it just right. I hope you enjoyed Show & Tell Friday. If you would like to see more visit Cindy at http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ Have a great weekend!!!!!
