The coat rack…..

Or….what I’m painting this week……

towel rack 020

towel3

towel rack 016

I’m sure some of you will cringe when you

read I painted an antique oak

schoolhouse coat rack.

The reality is though….

antiques

have really tanked around here

and it was more

economical to paint it then

to resell it and buy

a new one.

-----------

Finding accessories for this

space has been really challenging which is

why I haven’t posted pics yet.

Hang in there though….I will eventually!

Not me - I won't cringe at anything that makes beautiful perfect use of something in one's special spaces......how is it ever a bad plan?

I think it looks awesome there and in its new "clothes."

Well done.

I'm not going to scold you for painting it, because I would've done the same thing! Ha! It looks great. I love towels on hooks instead of bars anyway.

Very pretty from what I can see, Des! I think you need to do with your pieces what works for you.

Des, it is beautiful and paint whatever makes you happy. Vintage and antique do not sell as good for me as more modern pieces. Many younger people just do not like antiques. Antique stores are closing all over the South. hugs, olive

I love the rack, Des and I love that you painted it. The market is extremely slow for antiques here as well.

I love it.Some things are meant to be painted.

Don't worry, I won't cringe. I paint everything I can possibly find. Not always white but it will get painted. I would paint everything in my home but Mr. County would surely object. And honestly, I think that the coat rack looks great painted!

Anyone who cringes should remind themselves there is something called paint stripper.
