A long awaited treasure…..

I remember the first time I saw one of these  capital

fragments at a architectural

salvage place about five years ago…….it was love at first site!!!!!

However the price

was out of my reach since it was $300.

Ever since then I have been

searching for one but have never had any luck finding

one until the other day!

I spotted it from across the room and

started walking towards it very fast…almost running.

When I zipped past my

husband who was standing at the end of

the isle he was like,

”Where are you going?

We haven’t even finished looking here yet.”

I proclaimed I’d be back and that I had found something!!!

Let’s just say when he finally

caught up with me holding my new treasure

he didn’t share in my excitement

and was less then thrilled. I on the other hand was over

the moon with happiness since this

little gem was only $78!

As you can see it found a

home on my coffee table in the living room.

Don’t you love how the

wax ran down and started to drip……

I also found this candle on One Kings Lane the other day.

It smells heavenly without even being lit!!!

Isn’t the little cardboard

container it comes in so sweet?

Hope you are having a nice holiday weekend

and will take the time to say

a little prayer for all the men and women serving

our country and for those

who gave their lives so we can enjoy our freedom!

Have a great week!!!

I love your captial! I have one (not vintage) that I use under one of my columns. It gives it some much needed height. I love how you used it for candles. Speaking of candles, that was a nice one you found on OKL! I've never seen those in person, but have heard they smell wonderful. Love the packaging too. Your orchid caught my eye too. So pretty!

I looked for years for a chippy vintage capital. My husband got tired of hearing about it and bought me a repro at Restoration hardware for Christmas. Your's is perfect and I love the candles on top.
