An ugly chair transformed!

I have had this chair for about….eight years I think?!?! Long enough that I can’t remember where I bought it from originally. I have never really liked the finish on the chair but fine French antique chairs are a rarity around here. Originally the fabric was a beige damask and over the years it has had a few different looks. Then it was finally moved to the master bedroom where it has remained.

I finally decided to paint the chair last week……….

Here is the before:

For some reason this chair always looked better in the photos than it did in person! The finish was a shiny taupe color and just screamed cheap faux finish.

Nice! The ribbon on the chair legs make them look like ballet slippers. Very sweet!

Ok, wait just a doggone minute! You did more than just paint that chair. You added the most gorgeous slipcover with ballet ties. You can't pull the wool over our eyes that fast! Ha! Spill the beans. Where did you get that? How did you get that? Love it!!

What a wonderful make-over! It's very French chic. I love it painted white and I love slip covers!!
You did a beautiful job!
I have a thing for beautiful chairs. I have at least a dozen in my basement that I plan on some day re-doing. I love painted furniture (mostly white). You have inspired me to go shopping in my basement.
Guess I should get busy.
Lovely blog. Will visit again soon.
