An accidental collection…..

It all starts off innocently enough…..you pick up an

item that intrigues you.

Then the next thing you know you have two

or three…..and sometimes more!

This is the case with my collection of fedora hats.

-------

hats!

-------

I’m not even sure when I started collecting them actually?

However I keep picking

them up here and there……and they look nice

stacked in the niche above the front door.

The collection was slightly bigger until recently when

three were damaged beyond repair.

-------

The front door was actually

a window on the side of the building originally.

When the house was turned into a private residence part of

the window was removed and a door was added which

is why there is a niche above the door.

So, do you have an accidental collection?

If so, I would love to hear all about it!

Hope you will consider following me on

Google Friends Connect.

Love your collection and the way you have it displayed! I do love to collect. I guess my two main accidental collections have to be antlers and seashells. I find it hard not to collect! ~Kristie

What a great collection and I love how it is displayed. I suppose my most interesting collection is my funeral baskets. I have far too many and Joe says it is now getting creepy. I started with one and kept running into them which is kind of odd because they are hard to find. xo, Olive

My across-the-street neighbor picked up a candy dish for me at a thrift store. It was my first piece of milk glass. Obviously I had to purchase other milk glass dishes to create a collection. Don't you love when that happens? LC

I've notcied those hats up there before and glad you finally explained them. LOL! I didn't realize they were part of a collection. You've got a good one! I think placing them above the door in that little niche area is a great idea. Kind of unexpected. Love that long lumbar pillow on your sofa too. Let me know if you ever want to part with it. (Wink)

Deserae,
I was distracted by your lovely home first before I noticed the hats. What a fun collection. That is a great place to display them, how cute. I actually do have a collection of jeweled frames. If I ever see a unique one, I can't help but buy it and bring it home with me. Have a nice weekend.
