New sconces…….

I found these great little

sconces on eBay and they came in the

mail the other day.

Of course they didn’t look like this….. originally they were stained wood.

As usual I forgot about

taking a before pic until I had already started the project!

I loved the shape and style but the

wood color just wasn’t quite what I had in mind.

So, out came the paint!

Three different colors of paint

and a little sanding and this is the end result!

Currently they are hanging beside the trumeau mirror in

the dining room but I’m not sure if that

is where they will stay?!?!?!

After I took these pictures my camera died!

There is something wrong

with the shutter so off to the shop it must go!

Hi Des. Isn't it wonderful that everyone is so creative and can see what beauty is hiding in an ugly duckling. How sad it would be to have to pass up these little beauties just because they weren't exactly right. That mirror is gorgeous and I think they look right at home beside it, but I'm sure you have many places they could go in your lovely little school house..Happy Tuesday, Judy

They look GREAT right where they are - I'd keep 'em there. They look like they belong next to that pretty mirror, framing it as the "main event!"

Well done, looks fabulous!

I love, love, love them! I love them more with the white paint makeover you gave them. I also am drooling over your blue and white plates. They're my favorite shade of blue too! I think they look great beside the mirror, but if you're like me, they will visit other rooms of your house in the future. LOL! They can go virtually anywhere, so I'm sure you will enjoy them for a long time.

I have to say they were hideous before but now they look wonderful with your mirror!

I've never met a pair of sconces I didn't like, and these are no exception. They are nice in their original state, but bring on the wow factor in their painted present state. The sconces, plates, and mirror (reflections of a crystal chandelier-swoon!)pair beautifully together and create a Ooh La La look all their own!

Deserae,
These sconces are beautiful. They are pretty after you painted them, but I also liked them before, as I love dark wood. The design is very unique and lovely. They look great where they are in your home.

You did a wonderful job on them. They look gorgeous flanking the mirror, and I love the transferware too!
