A French footstool make over……

I bought this cute little French footstool a couple of weeks ago.

footstool

While it was in nice condition the green needlepoint fabric didn’t coordinate with anything in my house.

So, I opted to remove the fabric and replace it with a toile one.

After removing the old fabric and pulling all the staples out I added a little batting over the top

before putting the new fabric on.

I added a little gimp to finish it off and re-used the brass nail tacks.

It’s such a cute little footstool, I’m sure it will make the rounds in the house

before I find the perfect spot for it?!?!?

I love this recovered in the toile! My dad used to call these type of foot stools "land mines" because my mom had so many around the house he'd trip all over them. Hee hee!! Yours is really cute!

I love toile, so I think you made the perfect choice in fabric! I also love the rug in there. So pretty!

Wow, you are so creative, Deserae. The foot stool looks cute with the new material you chose. I was just thinking the other day that I would love to put new fabric on the stool in my bathroom, but have no idea how to go about doing it. Redoing upholstery seems like such a tedious job, and you make it look so simple.
