Guest Bedroom Makeover……

The title should probably read: Leftover Guest Bedroom Finally Gets A Makeover since previously everything leftover from other rooms in the house always landed in this one.

After we got the reclaimed door headboard done we had the Country Home photo shoot so I dressed the bed in white linens with a linen check for an accent because I was short on time and knew it would photograph well.

I couldn’t decide which direction I wanted to go with the room so it stayed that way for quite some time. I then found the chocolate buffalo check fabtic and bought 15 yards for an amazing deal. Originally I was going to use the check fabric for window treatments and pillows too. However once I got the bedskirt made it was pretty obvious the room would be way too dark with all that brown buffalo check fabric.

I searched and searched for a secondary fabric to go with the check and was about to give up when I finally found this floral. Originally I bought three yards but ended up reordering it two more times before the project was finished because I eneded up using it to make London shades for the windows and a slipcover for this little stool.

Of course once the room was put back together the French chest didn’t seem to look as nice in the room as it did before. So, it got a little makeover with paint too…

New custom pillows and an embroidered duvet finish the bed off……

The French cane back chair got a little white linen slipcover too! The French table which was behind the settee in the living room was moved to the bedroom to replace the skirted table that was here before.

Love it all, Des. Your table makes me want to go buy one just like it that just needs some paint. Thanks for the inspiration!
