No matter how hard I try to NOT buy anymore
ironstone I seem to always
find just one more piece that I simply must have!
Since I have been collecting ironstone for over
twenty years I have pretty much reached maximum capacity.
Somehow though I managed to squeeze three more
pieces above the doorway in the dining room.
It’s a sickness I tell ya!

I also found this French fly catcher
when we went to the Bottoms Up antique market.
Originally I was going to hang
it in the mudroom but then my darling husband pointed out
that it would eventually be full of DEAD flys.
I wasn’t loving the
idea of having a bunch of dead
flys hanging around
so it found a home in one of the window sills.

It's a plate disease...I have it too! They are perfect over the door!
These are perfect over your doorway! I have a problem with collecting dessert dishes and cordial glasses. I am bad. By the way, the doorway is beautiful. I love the woodwork and the windows. Just gorgeous!

I love the ironstone! You have such good taste. Your home looks very inviting. :) I've never heard of a French fly catcher, but I love interesting items like that. :) Have a great weekend!
Love the Ironstone! So pretty.
I love your ironstone plates that you found. That first picture has me swooning with all that white. I'm so in love with white. You do it better than most (I think). Love that darling fly catcher too. I agree with your husband. Who wants to look at dead flies? Even though that IS what it's for. LOL! Everything you found is simple and classic. That's why I love them.
But dead flies is a GOOD thing!
Love your home, and those plates look awesome up there.
I just want to grab a good book, a cuppa tea and just lounge on that pretty white sofa - your home extends a delightful "welcome" feeling.
Ah, but it's a beautiful addiction!
The fly catcher is very interesting.
Stay cool!!
Deserae,
That fly catcher is something else. I've never seen one like it before. Your house is so lovely, and always enjoy looking at all your ideas. I love antique shops myself.
Love,
