Decor Steals had artificial hydrangeas a while back.
I bought six stems to use for a project I was working on.
When they arrived the color was not what I was expecting and I
couldn't use them as I originally planned.
After looking around the house I realised the hydrangeas I had on top
of the vasselier in a basket could use a little refreshing.
Even though they really aren't dried hydrangeas they do look like the real thing!
I have tried several times over the years to grown my own with no luck.
Next time they have them on sale I hope they have a pretty blush color.
One positive thing about buying artificial stems is they will not loose their color over time.
Have a great week my friends!!!!

Faux plants and flowers are getting prettier by the minute! There was a time when I took all of them out but now they are just so pretty. I'm bringing some back too. :)
They really do look like real dried hydrangeas. I thought they were until you said otherwise! I always hate it when I get something that I've ordered and it doesn't look like what I expected. Glad that you found a way to make yours work.
They do look like the dried ones...and I love that room I must say!

they look great up there.
Faux really has come a long way hasn't it? The look wonderful atop that beautiful piece.
Happy week!!

Oh, I can't tell you how many times I've ordered something and it wasn't like I expected. Yours look beautiful though! They're making the faux flowers so real looking now days that I really can't tell the difference. I have to say that I love that rug in the last pic too!
They look real. I love your vasselier. I have had luck with Oak Leaf Hydrangeas. They are more conical in shape but they hold up to the Texas heat. I love how you stacked the books.
Hi there, I love the look of the dried flowers on top of the hutch. I have some bright reds & oranges that are silk and I put them in my crock pots. I never had any luck growing the plant when we lived in Ca. but have had success here in Colorado. Thanks for sharing.

I have lots of blush hydrangeas I can send you (really). I just cut a huge bouquet for my neighbor and she was thrilled (she recently moved from Atlanta and never had luck with hers).
I so adore your blog---It would be my pleasure to send you a gift of hydrangeas because your blog is a gift for me.
Fondly,

Deserae,
The hydrangeas look lovely on top of your hutch. I can't help but notice that beautiful hutch too - I think it's my favorite piece of furniture in your house. My husband actually hung a picture of hydrangeas on the wall today. I think we had the same idea.
love,
~Sheri
Your hydrangeas do look real, Des! They're gorgeous on top of your cabinet.
