I have had the plaster capital in the window with a French wine bottle placed on top for quite some time. When the weather was nice I opened the window to let fresh air in. One morning I came downstairs to discover pieces of plaster all over the floor. My heart sank….the constant pelting of the wind on the back side of the capital was causing it to crumble and deteriorate.
I tried the capital in several places around the house but it looked best placed under my statue on the French baker’s table. Ironically the French baker’s table is right next to the window where the capital was placed before. So, after traveling all over the house the capital ended up 5 ft away from it’s original spot!
Previously I had a wood capital under the Orchid but since I am using the larger plaster capital I switched it out for a stack of old ironstone plates I have collected over the years.
Notice the ladder in the reflection of the mirror? Moving one thing led to yet another…… causing the domino effect once again. I was going to edit the ladder out but decided to just leave it because this is real life and things aren’t always pretty around here.
