I sort of feel like a madwoman painting
everything in
sight these days!!!
Or…….. maybe I’m just tired of seeing things
I love sitting around collecting dust because I never found the
perfect spot for them?!?!?!
With a little tweaking and a little re-arranging
I was able to fit several
things into my décor that
have
been stashed away.
This statue is one of those things……I bought it
a year ago thinking it would look
perfect in my dining room.
However it was a really
dark grey
color and just seemed odd and
out of place where ever I placed it.
It then spent the spring, then the summer ……
which led into the fall and then eventually
winter on the covered porch.
Today I brought it in
and decided
to paint it. It took five different colors
of paint and a lot of
determination
to achieve the look I was after
but
eventually I did get there.
I placed a little crown on her head….
What shall I paint next?!?!
You go girl!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous vignette Des and your cherub looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHa! I can identify. :) Sometimes I feel like a stalker with a paintbrush, looking for some unsuspecting subject to paint! It is a wonderful unifying tool. Paint ROCKS!

Love it! Hey, if you have the talent why let it go to waste! Just beautiful...and the crown is the crowning touch:)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2012!
PS I awarded you a blog award this morning that I had recieved and I passed it along to five more blogs..please visit to "receive" it.
ReplyDeleteI like the little cherub. I find that many times after painting a piece of furniture white I always end up wandering the house with paint brush in hand looking for something else to paint. I went visiting through your blog yesterday and you have done an amazing job, you home is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice, Des,love him on your table. I have a similar piece {have no idea what it's made of} that hangs around and I stuck a little crown on his head, too. : ) Of course, right now it's on one of my little trees as a topper so he's looking a bit lost again. Never thought to paint him though. He may get added to the list. I have a small stool in our bathroom that is first up on the painting list.
ReplyDeleteHi jsut found you through enchanted home blog, an award was awarded to your blog, Looks like a good one, happy to discover it, love your cherub.
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect, Des! A paint brush is a dangerous thing!!

She looks perfect on your table in there. She balances the cement looking urn on the opposite side. I have a similar statue that is outside. It's nice to be able to use them indoors too.
