After waiting for months
and months
the resident handy man
finally had time to
make me a dining room table.
I still have to pinch myself because
it doesn’t seem real!!!!
The top is made from
old wood and
the
legs are made of
new pine.
After the handyman got
the table assembled
I got busy
mixing up the paint and
then started
painting……
the table legs were
painted with six different colors.
I just adore all the imperfections
in the top…..and
love that it has a story!
Just another
view in
different lighting….
The table top
has
three coats of wax……..
A little reminder
of
what the dining
room
looked like before.
And now the after……

Des, I love it. He did a fantastic job building that. Wish mine made furniture. Love the beefy legs and the wonderful patina of the wide planked boards on top. I also want the urn on the table. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOh how gorgeous. I love your table, so pretty. The rustic top with the beautiful turned legs and your fabulous chairs is stunning. Wow, he did a great job. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour table turned out gorgeous, Des! I love how you left the top and painted the base.
ReplyDeletewhat a great table....and just think will be something to pass down to next generation.....your a lucky lady!!
ReplyDeleteDes, it is wonderful and that it has a story even more so. The color of the legs blends better with your glorious style. I am away on a trip but I found the perfect little old vintage kitchen island. It was in a barn and I am dying to get home and play with it. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm blown away! It looks like a very expensive antique farm table. Your husband is so talented! He could very well make furniture and sell it as a hobby after he retires (if he hasn't already). It looks perfect in your dining room along with the chairs that you already had. I wish my table looked like that. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteHi Des,
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous table...I love everything about it!! The legs are fantastic! The finishing is just perfect...the dining room has never looked better! Great Handyman you have there!
All the Best,
Christine

Excellent, The Handy Man did a great job, well worth waiting for! Did you put anything on the top other than wax and was it light or dark? What colors on the legs? Six because that's what it took for the look you wanted? Share the details lady!

ReplyDeleteDes, I have been admiring your table since you first posted about it and well I have FINALLY talked my hubby into replacing our dining table top. Do you know if your resident carpenter used biscuts to join the planks together or did he just glue them together?
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find the legs?????? I have been looking for some like this!
