This is how the vasselier
looked before
I decided to flip the books
around so that
the pages show instead of
the spine of the book.
Here is the after…. thought
I would switch things
up and try something different.
My assistant…..he simply
insisted that
he be
in the picture and
would not move no matter
how many times
I asked him to!
So there you have it….
I’m not sure how long I will
leave it that way but
it’s nice to change things
up every
once in a while!

A little change can make such a big difference Des. I love this look! This room is stunning!!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard the word vasselier before and looked it up. I just learned something. It looks great as dose what I saw of your room.
ReplyDeleteI like them flipped. Very old world. Following your new Linky.
ReplyDeleteI love how that looks! Actually, I did that with some of my books too in the family room. I like the look of the old pages. I'd like to get more old books so I could have a huge pile in my glass cabinet. The messier looking the better! Ha! Don't you just love a quick change like that (also free)? I think you should leave them like that.
ReplyDeleteI have flipped my books, too. Some people think it's crazy, but I love it....the neutralness is so calming. Nice look! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour area looks really nice. Your little assistant is adorable. I am your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. Love the way the books are piled in there. They say come grab one and take a look.
ReplyDeleteI am featuring your dining table tonight on Wow.
This room is so lovely! Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt adds to your neutral palette. I must be able to see and grab my books I fear. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteYou need to have another photo shoot at your house...your home is always magazine worthy! I love the idea of "flipping" books.
ReplyDeleteJudy

ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
I love this look, especially that they seem to be "stashed" randomly. that piece of furniture is just amazing!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing the flipped books here and there, and I really like the look, but the anal part of me thinks I'd have to turn them right back around the way their "suppose" to be. I never follow the rules, so how come this one seems like it would be hard not too?
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I think it is so much fun to make small changes that make a big difference.
