-------
Many of you remember when this
armoire in the living room got a makeover a couple of years ago.
Originally it was stained and
with a little paint it now looks like this.
-------
-------
Shortly after this armoire got a makeover
another armoire that was
very similar came up on Craig’s List!!!!
It too was made out of teak wood and stained.
We used it in our den for a while but it never fit quite right.
Finally a few weeks ago we
moved it to the upstairs hallway to use as a linen closet.
-------
-------
Here is what it looked like before…..
I had already started the prep work as you can see……….
This armoire is painted a lighter grey
than the one in the living room.
-------
-------
Here is the after!!!!
It took an insane amount of time to
paint all the detail but the result was
well worth it I think?!?!?!
-------
-------
I haven’t finished decorating the hallway
yet so I don’t have an overall pic
to share at this time. Hopefully soon though?!?!?!

I love it!!!! You're so lucky to have 2 intricately carved armoires like that. They look so rich! I love the new paint color you added. Can't wait to see it in the hallway after you're done.

Des, your armoire is beyond gorgeous and yes, the time it took to paint out all the details was definitely worth it. Why can't I find beautiful items like this on Craigslist? What a lucky find!!

ReplyDeleteI too bought the same one as in your living room the one with the flower basket...Paid $300.. haven't painted it yet. How much do you think the armoire is worth.im moving and will decide whether to paint it or not after the move. Elaine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful armoire washed in white; it is amazing to me how the details become more pronounced dressed in white paint. Your room is tranquil and interesting. I admire the texture you layered in the room; the rug, the silk drapes, the chandelier paired with the French pottery. Elegant, yet inviting and comfortable - lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled to have found you, and am looking forward to getting to know you -
