-------
Many of you readers
asked to see more pics of our master bathroom.
At first I was hesitant because our
master bathroom is small and not a luxurious retreat
like you find in newer homes.
However given the age
of our home we feel pretty fortunate to have
our little jewel box of a bath.
-------
When we bought the house
this bath was actually two very tiny
little separate baths!!!!
We gutted everything and combined
the two spaces to make it one master bathroom.
-------
So here it is:
The sink is also a Craig’s List find!
What started out
as a quick trip to pick up a sink
on a Saturday
morning turned into an all day adventure!
My bargain chandy……..found at Lowes for $75!
Yes, I have chandeliers in all
my bathrooms……what can I say?
I do love my sparkly!
We found this cabinet
that was torn out of an old house on Craig’s List.
It has the original old bead
board on the back!!!
We added the crown molding and little
glass antique knobs.
I have been looking for
quite a while to find something to hang above the window.
I found this iron fragment on eBay.
It is an iron topper
off a fence from an old cemetery.
The master bedroom view when
standing in the doorway
of the bathroom.

Des,
ReplyDeleteNot sure why you were hesitant.Your bathroom is beautiful!!! Love,Love,Love it! I have a very small master bath. One shot and I would be done as far as photos. My previous home had a large one.Something I gave up.
Love that chandy too!!

Oh my goodness...this is one of the prettiest bathrooms I've ever seen! I am so glad you shared it with us. I am pinning this for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a jewel box, indeed! Your bath is absolutely gorgeous! You have such beautiful accents; and the chandy is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love your bathroom. I live in a new home and I tell my husband everytime the topic comes up that if we ever do plan on moving again I would rather have an older house that has charm and character. I love your sink and chandy. =)
ReplyDeleteLove the bathroom. It looks like a retreat to me. I like things smaller, less to clean :). Seeing your posts gives me something to reach for when my health issues are under control. So inspiring!
ReplyDeleteIt is all gorgeous! I personally prefer a smaller and more intimate/cozy bedroom. I find that newer homes have vast, empty, boring bedrooms. I'd pick yours any day over a bigger one!
ReplyDeleteWow, it is absolutely stunning! Bigger does not mean better, your bathroom far surpasses most. I am in awe of your craigslist finds. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your Retreat... Your bathroom looks magazine worthy to me. Simple and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Des~~ I love everything about it!! What a great space you have!!! Perfect in my opinion!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
I think there should be chandys everywhere too;))) The more the merrier!

Your bathroom proves luxurious does not have to be big- that bath is FANTASTIC!
ReplyDeleteI love that sink! And the other decor... but the real oooh is that deep window!
and the classic tile and other elements you chose will always be in style!

It's just beautiful! I don't think it looks that small. You've done a great job keeping it looking vintage and neutral to match the rest of your home. It's such a classic looking bathroom. I'm sure it will always look good since it isn't trendy. I love your sink vanity and chandelier the best!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, Des, this room is fabulous! love the paint color and those architectural prints! thanks for sharing it with all us nosey people!
ReplyDeleteWhat a retreat! I love!! Oh and there's that mirror above the bed..smacking me in the face and asking why I didn't get her sista ?? lol
ReplyDeleteOnce again I have to tell you that you have such good taste and decorating skills! Your bath is just stunning and I love your bedroom, the perfect spot to get away to! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Your bath and bedroom are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the sink and the beautiful chandy.
Love that sink and super cute floor!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I think small is good when it's decorated just the right way. And your bathroom is just gorgeous! I'd love to re-do our master bath, but never have the time or money to find just the right pieces.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! I love everthing you have done and your cemetary fence topper is fab!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's so little, Des, but it is definitely a jewel! Love your chandy and the iron piece you found for over the window. The decor definitely complements your master bedroom, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your master bath! Ours is smaller, too, but I think smaller is more realistic, and your bath is just charming! I have the same shower curtain (I think) - Ballard's with our monogram in the center like I think I see on yours. Love it! Please tell me the paint color - love it, too! I want to redo our guest bath just like yours! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bathroom, love the soft look of the bath and the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably beautiful - every last detail - but that sink is spectacular!!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Des! Can you come and help me do our half bath!?;)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! Love the corner cabinet, and those thick walls.
ReplyDeleteHelen
Certainly nothing not worth showing off in that resting room! White, clean, happy looking. I could rest there.

I LOVE that sink and have been looking for one like it....I see that it was a craigslist find, but is there a label on it of the manufacturer (Kohler, Waterworks, etc.)? I would like to try to track it down - thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous...both the bathroom and the bedroom!!!
ReplyDeleteI like your post especially that chandelier. That bedroom and bathroom also was great. Thank you for sharing.
