Changes in the kitchen…..

The domino effect continues…..

into the kitchen!

It all started with a white ironstone bowl I had tucked away.

I decided it would be perfect in the

kitchen holding apples.

Of course changing things in

one corner of the kitchen meant changing all the

accessories in the kitchen!

After I had everything arranged just the way

I liked it I decided to take

a few pictures to share with all of you!

There I sat in front of my computer screen anticipating

beautiful pictures but instead all I could see is the

wall color that I never really loved!

On a whim I decided to repaint the kitchen the same

color as the dining room.

I get asked a lot why I never show the other side of the kitchen.

The truth is,

my kitchen is really small

and the other side is not very interesting!

Here is the other side……

the powder room……

Beautiful kitchen! Love that kitchen faucet.....

I think your kitchen is full of charm! Sometimes the bigger kitchens lose that. The old fashioned kitchens from years ago were all small. So.....your kitchen fits in perfectly with your historic home. I would embrace it, really.

Des, what a beautiful kitchen! I just love all of your accents. Funny how a bowl of apples can make you repaint a whole kitchen...lol!! It is absolutely gorgeous!

Now that I think of it, the only place you see a big kitchen is in those McMansions, which, don't get me wrong, I love them, but older home just don't seem to have big kitchens. I know I don't! Yours is so pretty, who would notice! And how do you keep your counters so uncluttered?!

Love that pretty bowl and your baker's rack is gorgeous!

I love that granite and also your backsplash tile. The paint color could not be more perfect. Oh yea, the pretty bowl of green apples is nice too. :)

Beautiful kitchen, love the hardware too! ? I have the same curtain as you how do you get it folded like that, it really looks so pretty, I just washed mine and have them hanging straight for now, I don't want to mess with them for fear of wrinkling them.
Thanks, have a great evening!

Your kitchen is absolutely beautiful! I love all the special touches! There are a few that I'm going to incorporate into mine, one of them being the towel rack on the end base cabinet! If you did want to change something on the other side, you could replace the two doors above the refrigerator to glass and display some pretty things there as well. But if you're like me, you might need that space to hide some of the not so pretty things that you need in the kitchen! LOL! Oh, I'm going to now follow your lovely blog and am starting to pin!

Well that's just the proof I needed that small kitchens can be dream kitchens - mine is itsy bitsy - probably much smaller than yours ( 100 year old houses didn't have big kitchens ) your kitchen is filled to the brim with inspiration!

Your kitchen is one of the most beautiful kitchens I've ever seen, right down to the smallest detail! I love the chandy over the sink, the door handles and really EVERYTHING!!
Would you mind sharing with us the name and brand of the wall color? I love it and have been looking for a more neutral color for my kitchen and dining room, too.
Thanks for such a lovely post and blog.

You have the most adorable kitchen with major attention to detail. I love, love it and you are blessed with a hubby that can do what he did. Can we see the ceiling? I caught a glimpse at some kind of ceiling tin in the hall leading to the bathroom...just curious.

I found you on Pinterest and I am so glad I did! What a beautiful kitchen! We are restoring an 1893 farmhouse and bogging about our journey too. We ripped out the tiny crusty 50s/70s/80s kitchen and are looking for inspiration. Thank you for sharing your heart and home with us. Love it, Sara Jo Floyd
