I wonder why old luggage speaks to us? Does it make us want to travel? Is it the sense of history surrounding it? I know I have always wanted a few pieces, but lack of room has kept me from collecting any. I'll just stare at this picture awhile longer! lol!
I love old luggage, including the steamer trunks. I remember as a child begging my parents to let me have the steamer trunk that I spied in our basement. I wanted to use it in my bedroom--that's how long I've had this obesssion. I also had an old school desk, and a small keg in my room growing up. I'm sure that was not the norm for girls my age. Now I have a few vintage pieces but they are more recent vintage if that makes sense. I use them for props for my jewelry.
