The other day when I was re-arranging
things in the dining room
I decided to hang these platters on the wall.
I had a collection of plates hung here before but decided these
ironstone platters would look prettier.
-------
-------
I like that they are all a little different in color……
I hung them using the invisible
disc hangers which are removable with warm water.

I couldn’t resist sharing this pic of Booger.
He takes the funniest pictures!

The other day I rearranged a few things in the dining room.
Of course once you move one thing that
leads to another and another causing the inevitable domino effect.
I added this pretty little French
lantern to the French baker’s table and moved the statue
to the pedestal in the corner.

We are having some wacky weather this week.
The beginning of the week was
soooooooo hot and dry!
The end of the week is turning out to be
very wet and cooler with more fall like temperatures.
Either way the weekend is finally here and
what’s not to love about that?

A few weeks ago when we
were at the antique market one of the dealers had these
fabulous life preservers.
-------
-------
I wanted one oh so badly
but they were really expensive……so I had to pass.
As luck would have it though I found one at an antique mall
we stopped at on the way back home!
The best part was is was 1/4 of the price of the ones we saw
at the antique market.
-------
-------
Mine isn’t as old as the ones we saw at the market but then
again I didn’t pay the big bucks for it either.
I hung it in the master bathroom over the shower.
It is impossible to get a good
picture of it since our master bathroom is a little on the tiny side.
-------
-------
I like that is adds an unexpected
touch to a space
that would otherwise be pretty boring.

It’s no secret that my house is filled to
the brim with furniture.
My biggest obsession seems to be chairs….. but French settees
are a close second.
I have one in my living room….. and one in
the upstairs hallway.
Trust me though if I could fit more in
my house I would!
-------
Love this one with the gold gilding….so pretty!
…..and then there is this one paired with a table!
This one with the cane back is just sooooo divine!
So what has been inspiring YOU this week?
Are you a furniture junkie
like me or do you have amazing restraint?

Hello friends!!!!
Hope you are having a fabulous week so far?!?!!?
Today I want to
share with you the French baskets
I found at the antique show a couple of weeks ago.
-------
-------
I was super excited to find the one with initials!
-------
-------
So much character……
I love the worn spots and even the broken buckle.
-------
-------
I haven’t found the perfect spot for them yet.
For now they are stacked
next to a chair in the living room.

A couple of months ago I picked up this altar tapestry fragment.
I knew as soon as I spotted it,
it would make a gorgeous pillow.
Here you can see it rolled up with rosary beads draped over it.
I didn’t have the heart at first to cut it up into a pillow.
-------
-------
Life is short though and treasures are meant to be enjoyed not tucked away.
So, I bought an inexpensive
velvet pillow and applied the fragment to the top.
-------
-------
After cutting the fragment in half, I have just enough
left over to make a second pillow.
-------
-------
I also picked up this little French
marble topped table the other day at an antique shop.
It has made in France stenciled on the bottom……
look at those cute little legs!!!
-------
-------
A little polish cleaned it up……
for $85 I think I got a pretty good deal?!?!
