I recently purchased two new rugs for the living room since the ones I purchased a couple of months ago simply weren’t working for our household. The two rugs that were in the living room were moved to the bedrooms.
It all started with an email informing me of a sale on their website. Naturally I had to go have a peek and while I wasn’t looking for a rug I couldn’t help but click on the picture when I saw it. It was just what had in mind when I originally started my search for new rugs for the living room.
I loved the sea grass rugs I had before. They wore like iron and were easy to clean but after eight years it was time for new rugs. However since I am no longer using the white slipcovers I wanted something that wasn’t all beige since my furniture is natural linen.
The new rugs are made of hemp with strips of leather woven thru. I was a little surprised when the rugs arrived and the ends of the strips were not secured and poked out on the top side of the rug. I love the way the rugs look because they look like something you would find in an old French farm house. However I am not sure how well they will hold up in the long run. The description on the website said they are very durable which is why I purchased them…..I guess only time will tell?!?!?! If you have small children or curious pets I don’t think these would be a good purchase.
*Edited to add: The rugs were purchased at: Soft Surroundings *

I can see how those loose ends might not work with dogs but it sure is beautiful! Love the texture it adds to the room.

I love the new rugs! The leather woven in between is such a neat way to add texture! Those sale emails get me every time! :) I never think I need anything until I click on them. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI love the new rugs! May I ask..what website?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! The added texture looks GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteYour rug looks very pretty! I hope it lasts you a long time but so many things these days cost so much yet are not made very well, finger's crossed!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty!!!...and I hope it holds up for you!...at first glance I thought it was possibly a wool fabric (like braided rug material) woven in...then to my surprise you said it was leather...how different and beautiful..Looks perfect in the room!
ReplyDeleteThe rug adds lovely texture to the room, I am so into texture at the moment. It adds another layer to the beautiful room setting you have created.

Des I LOVE your new rugs...I noticed them right away in you last post!!
ReplyDeleteYour new rugs are so pretty. I didn't realize that they had leather in them. They wouldn't work in my house with my hyper dog that loves to play tug of war at night with his blanket though.
ReplyDeleteYour new rugs are lovely, Deserae, and look just right in your living room. I'm going to need some area rugs soon, and I would like some that are simple and pretty, just as these are.
ReplyDeleteHave a good rest of the week.
love,
~Sheri
It looks great Des!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Perfection!
ReplyDeleteOMG Love the new rug!! I just bought (ok I know this is gonna sound stupid) but I just bought placemats that match that rug and after I brought them home I wanted to get a rug to match! The smell of the leather....love it! Any chance you can tell me where you got the rug? I scrolled thru your post twice but didn't see it but I haven't had coffee yet :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my rug love!!!! The new rug really completes your beautiful living space. Gorgeous.
