The sitting nook in the upstairs hallway…….

I am still working on the chest and accessories in the
upstairs hallway but thought I would go ahead and show you the sitting area today.

You might remember this is where I had the big French armoire previously.
While it looked pretty we really didn’t need the big piece and I ended up just using it for hoarding things.
I decided to replace it with two chairs. However that proved to be tricky since the stairwell is VERY steep and narrow.
Thankfully I found these chairs and they were just the right scale for the space and fit up the stairway.

A basket of magazines and ottoman completes the sitting area……just perfect for relaxing!

The space is very dark so I moved the big mirror from the master bedroom to behind the chairs to reflect the light from the window on the opposite end. The sconces were a find from our trip to Texas this past summer….
Hopefully I will have more to show of the hallway soon!

Hope to see you there!

  12. It was a good idea to move the mirror in to this room. I remember from past posts how dark you said the room got and now it looks like it has enough light. You are very daring going with so much white. It definitely makes the room brighter, but if I did that at my house my kids would have already made a mess of it I am sure.
