I bought two of these lamps from Kirkland's a few months back to go on the chest in the upstairs hallway.
When they arrived the finish on them was a little darker than as pictured.
I lived with them for a while but didn’t love how they looked with the mirror and painted chest.
SO, I painted them!
It isn’t a huge transformation…..I just wanted a lighter look so all it took was a little grey paint.
I love this basket….the lid is a little wonky but I think that just adds to the charm.
This is the view when you reach the top of the stairs……

Such a beautiful view at every turn in your home. I recently bought a lamp at Kirkland's for $40 and it looks amazing. I love that you painted yours to make them have that perfect french country look that you do so well.

Always fun to update with a little paint. I have painted several lamps and it's such an easy fix. I love your chest too. I also love your new blog look!
ReplyDeleteHi Des,
ReplyDeleteTweaking and highlighting is also what I do when purchases arrive. Your tweaking made the lamps stunning and I love that basket. The view looking down inio your room made me swoon. Oh how I love Zebra and your room has dimension, drama and interest galore.

Love the lamps...you certainly worked your magic....I also love the entire area...the chest, the mirror, and those amazing floors!!!
ReplyDeletegreat looking lamps. I had planned to paint two old floor lamps black, but now looking at yours I'm rethinking the color I'll paint them.
ReplyDeleteThe mirror, the basket, the lamps, I love it all!!! Your home should be on one of those walking home tours they have in the Fall. So pretty! I've painted a few Kirkland's pieces too and love them. I love that we can personalize our stuff with something as simple as paint. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely lamps! Love the new look you have on your blog. You have such a pretty home.

ReplyDeleteI love your pretty painted chest and new lamps! Your upstairs area looks so inviting. You're lucky to have that space at the top of your stairs! I also noticed your pretty new blog design. Looks so good. I should have mine redone. It's old, but I just haven't gotten around to it.
ReplyDeleteDes, the lamps look great (as does your whole house). Can I ask what kind of paint did you use to paint them?
