It’s been a little while since I have bought new lamp shades.
Who knew they could be so expensive?!?!
After I posted pics of the guest bedroom I decided I needed matching lamp shades for the French lamps in there. A lot of the lamp shades I found cost more than I originally paid for the lamps themselves!!!!

I found these lamp shades at Hobby Lobby. They were half price so both lamps shades cost the same price as one of the exact same shades on Amazon.
I was worried they would be cheap and flimsy for that price but to my surprise they are very nice!
I love the pleats and the little buttons are a nice detail too…..

Your new lamp shades are so pretty! I'm glad you were able to find some for a good price. My bedroom lampshades got damaged in our move and now I've found out they are an unusual size so I'm probably just going to have to get new lamps, but I think I'll check Hobby Lobby first!

Gorgeous! Lamp shades really can make a room and they can also update a space dramatically. I'm with you...they are super expensive to get the really nice ones. It's so great when you find something you love that is affordable.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting how a small change can affect a room? I think the new lampshades add texture, and play off the cane in the French chair back. Brilliant choice! The paint finish on your furniture is lovely, especially on the carved bedside table. This room is peaceful, elegant, and inviting - sure to bring sweet dreams.

I had the same problem when looking for new shades...they were more expensive than what I paid for the entire lamp! I'll have to check Hobby Lobby. Yours are beautiful!!!

The lamp shade is so pretty, Des. I have priced their lampshades before and was surprised how reasonable they are. They have a great selection of lamps too and the prices always seem to be reasonable. I love the extra touch of the buttons on the shade..Happy Monday..Judy
