A hall seat for the receiving hall...

We recently finished work on the lower portion of the receiving hall.
The old wallpaper was removed and the walls were painted in a light grey and the angylpta wallpaper received a refresh with white paint.

A few months ago the great grand daughter of the second owner stopped by and shared a few snippets on the history of the house. She told us a hall seat had always sat in the receiving hall along with a bench.

I have been on the hunt for a hall seat ever since! Recently I was lucky enough to find this one on Facebook Market Place. It needed a little work....and a lot of glue.....

I also found this cute little French table last summer on Facebook Market Place.
The little white heart of roses are luxury roses that last a year. They were perfect for the little table since the receiving hall gets very little sunlight.

This gilded French chair matches the settee.....

Have a great week friends!!!

Progress in the receiving hall......

Renovation is moving along on the house at a slow but steady pace.
Right now we are working on the receiving hall aka the foyer.
This is how it looked when we bought the house.

The wallpaper has been stripped and we are repairing the cracks in the plaster walls and painting the woodwork and lincrusta wallpaper.
Next the parquet floor tiles will be removed and the fir floor underneath will be sanded and sealed.

Happy Wednesday my friends!
