A little paint project…….

I bought two of these lamps from Kirkland's a few months back to go on the chest in the upstairs hallway.

When they arrived the finish on them was a little darker than as pictured.
I lived with them for a while but didn’t love how they looked with the mirror and painted chest.
SO, I painted them!

It isn’t a huge transformation…..I just wanted a lighter look so all it took was a little grey paint.

I love this basket….the lid is a little wonky but I think that just adds to the charm.

The sitting nook in the upstairs hallway…….

I am still working on the chest and accessories in the
upstairs hallway but thought I would go ahead and show you the sitting area today.

A simple solution…..

We have lived in our home almost eleven years and the

window in the hallway has always stumped me until recently.

Pretty much every room in the house has one of these oddly placed windows

making window treatments a real challenge!

Then one night while laying

in bed I remembered I had two of these old shutters I wasn’t using.

Originally they were painted green and I repainted them grey……and then white.

I used them in the dining room for quite

a while until I found the pair I have in there now.

The hallway only has one North facing window so I needed a solution

that would not block a lot of light and wouldn’t impede

on walking up and down the stairs since they are quite narrow

and very,very steep.

The hallway is a work in progress…….

One of these days I’ll get it just right….

and then we’ll probably move!
