The other day while at
an antique shop I spotted it!
The most wonderful galvanized container…..ever!
I knew the minute I saw it
exactly what I would use it for.
Mr. Handyman on
the other hand was a little skeptical.
I was able to persuade him
that it was just what we needed to hold my
ever growing cane collection.

It has wonderful ring handles
on the sides…….

I’m not sure what the original
intended use was
but it serves my purpose well.

Apparently I have a cane collection too. I didn't mean to start one, didn't really want one, and can't say it's my favorite collection, more like I tolerate it. People just kept giving me canes and I'd see them for a song at garage sales, and well at least the umbrella stand has something in it. I'm gonna look around for an interesting old bin, at least then I'd like the bin.

ReplyDeleteWonderful find and your cane collection looks great in it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
I love anything galvanized! That is a great piece. I have been in the antiques business for over 20 years and I have never seen this and have no idea what it is. I hope someone will identify it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find Des and it looks great holding your collection of canes! Hope you are enjoying your day, Gail
ReplyDeleteDes: Right choice!! It is just looking perfect holding your cane collection..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI really love it! You really do have a large cane collection. I think it's the perfect holder for them. I've been eyeing a galvanized tub for a while to hold firewood on my fireplace hearth. It's one of those things that I keep thinking about even though I don't really need it right now. Ha! Ya just gotta grab stuff when you find them though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, whimsical and elegant....love it!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog thru another favorite blog---love, love your style and how you think! I'm off to see more.

Hi Des,
ReplyDeleteWhat an incrediblely perfect find!
I love the fresh, eclectic mix the galvanized container adds to the room, and the canes are amazing! How many do you have and what's the criteria that makes you choose one over another?
Love to have you link, too.
Hugs,
Patti
