The 2014 ornament……..

Every year we buy a new ornament for our Christmas tree.
This year’s ornament is a
pretty snowflake hung by a beautiful velvet ribbon.

Another tradition is forcing paper white bulbs.
It is so much fun to wake up each day and see how much they have grown over night.
This year I decided to mix things up a bit and
bought an Amaryllis bulb too.

I bought it just this past weekend and already it has grown so much!
I can hardly wait to see the beautiful red bloom!!!!
Are you forcing any bulbs?

  3. I used to force bulbs and then realized I didn't like the smell of the flowers! I love the ornament tradition. We usually buy a silver bell from Wallace. Always fun.

  4. Your snowflake ornament is beautiful!! I always think about growing paper whites, but I'm not sure how Holly would do with them. She seems to like greenery...I've already had to pull her out of the Christmas trees multiple times this week! Lol!

  5. That's a nice tradition to buy a new ornament every year. Your snowflake is very pretty. It looks like crystal. Your amaryllis is going to be so pretty when it blooms. I decided not to force bulbs this year. I did it last year and did enjoy it though.

  7. Your new "silver" snow flake ornament is beautiful. I love amaryllis and in my zone 7B garden I have about a dozen that bloom each summer. I love the planter you have yours in and that pedestal is amazing! I have not forced bulbs for many years but this year I decided to try some hyacinths. I just started them a little over a week ago so they are still in their "dark cool" place. God bless you and your with a beautiful Christmas. Vikki in VA.

  8. Oh, please show us the red flower when it blooms, Deserae. I'm like you, and get a new pretty ornament each year. I just love your snow flake. Very simple and pretty. I hope to get my tree this weekend. :~)

  11. Des what a great tradition. We did this when kids were small but not for a long time and I regret it. I regret also that I have never forced any bulbs. I'm beginning to sound like Scrooge here!!..I bet your tree is beautiful..Happy Weekend..Judy
